Celebrations on Ukraine’s Independence Day took place in the bomb shelter of the Zaporizhzhia Abrasive Plant. The event began with a moment of silence in memory of all the defenders who gave their lives for our country’s freedom and sovereignty.
The chairman of the board, Ihor Burak, congratulated the collective of the combine, noting that Ukraine’s thousand-year history testifies to the constant struggle of Ukrainians for their independence. He expressed confidence in Ukraine’s victory and thanked the employees for their dedicated work, which contributed to the development and modernisation of the plant.
Despite the challenges of the war, the Zaporizhia Abrasive Plant, which celebrated its 85th anniversary this year, continues to work successfully to develop and improve the quality of its products. On the occasion of the state holiday and the plant’s anniversary, 50 employees were thanked for their significant labour achievements.
A special moment of the celebrations was the performance of Angelina Katashynska, the vocalist of the Ukrainian band Angie Kreid. She came at the invitation of the chairman of the supervisory board, Maksym Bielawski. The singer performed the band’s famous hits, including “Vraje,” “Pulsar,” “UFO,” “Batko nas Bandera,” and “Cold,” which she dedicated to the fallen heroes of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
After the concert, Angelina received a commemorative gift from the plant workers as a thank-you for her emotional performance. She left her autograph on the flag, which will become a symbol of warm memories of this meeting.
