Zaporizhzhia Abrasive Plant celebrated its 86th anniversary

The team of “Zaporizhabrasive” celebrated the 86th anniversary of the company’s founding, which traditionally takes place on March 8. This year, the celebration was again held under special conditions — in the shelter of the plant, as Zaporizhzhia, like all of Ukraine, continues to live and work under wartime realities.

On the occasion of the anniversary, the company’s staff was greeted by Regina Kharchenko, Secretary of the Zaporizhzhia City Council and Acting Mayor of Zaporizhzhia. Together with the plant’s management, she presented certificates of appreciation and awards to the leading workers of the company.

In his speech, Chairman of the Board Igor Burak expressed gratitude to the team for their dedicated work and resilience during this challenging time for the country:

“A year ago, we gathered together to celebrate the 85th anniversary of our company. Thanks to God, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and the support of international partners, we have endured. I believe that with your efforts and dedication, we will continue to persevere. Every day, through your work, you strengthen the foundation of our state. I am sincerely grateful to the local authorities, especially to the Secretary of the City Council, Regina Vladyslavivna Kharchenko, for their effective support in resolving the numerous pressing issues we face daily. I also want to inform you that, with the approval of the Supervisory Board and shareholders, all awarded employees will receive a monetary bonus as a token of gratitude.”

Regina Kharchenko emphasized the importance of preserving and developing such unique enterprises:

“Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Ukraine has lost a lot. Many industrial plants have been destroyed. But here, in Zaporizhzhia, we have a unique plant — your abrasive factory. Over the years, you have produced 6 million tons of abrasive products! You are the only enterprise in Ukraine with a full production cycle that can manufacture 1,500 types of abrasive tools. This is a tremendous value. Your 1,250 employees mean 1,250 families working for the future of our country. Your work is not just about the economy — it is a daily contribution to the resilience of Zaporizhzhia and Ukraine. Thank you for that!”

Valentyna Malyukina, Chairwoman of the Trade Union Committee, also addressed the team with words of gratitude and support:

“For three years, we have been working under the conditions of war, under constant shelling. 118 of our colleagues are currently defending Ukraine on the frontline. Although we lack enough hands to work, we fulfill all our obligations to partners both in Ukraine and abroad. The most important thing is that we keep working and standing strong. I wish you good health, well-being, peace, and continued development of our plant. Thank you for your dedication.”

On the occasion of “Zaporizhabrasive”’s 86th anniversary and for high production achievements, the company’s best employees were awarded certificates of honor and cash bonuses of 2,000 UAH each. All awarded employees also received official letters of gratitude recorded in their employment records.

Zaporizhzhia Abrasive Plant continues to work, develop, and contribute to Ukraine’s future. Together — toward victory!
