Zaporizhabrasive and Naretra GmbH sign 5-year BFAО supply deal

Zaporizhzhia Abrasive Plant – the only in Eastern Europe and one of the largest producers of brown fused aluminium oxide in the EU – announces the signing of a long-term five-year contract with the European company Naretra GmbH for the supply of high-quality brownfusedaluminium oxide for the needs of the refractory industry.

The contract comes into force on January 1, 2026 and provides for annual stable supplies of significant volumes of Ukrainian-made products. It is especially important that Naretra GmbH has successfully completed industrial testing of a new product of PJSC “Zaporizhabrasive” – 15A grade (premium quality) brown fused aluminium oxide, designed specifically for the refractory industry, and has already begun its active implementation to European refractory manufacturers.

In addition to this contract, PJSC “Zaporizhabrasive” products continue to be supplied to the German market through three leading German distributors – Imexco GmbH, Kumichel Abrasives GmbH and Cerablast GmbH & Co. KG, which indicates a stable and widespread presence of Ukrainian electrocorundum in one of the largest and most demanding markets in Europe.

This is the company’s second major long-term agreement in recent months: in August 2025, “Zaporizhabrasive” concluded a three-year contract with the Spanish company Arciresa S.A., which was an important step in the return of the Ukrainian manufacturer to the European market after the European Commission introduced anti-dumping duties on imports of corundum from China (AD720 study).

“We are systematically increasing our presence in the EU market, and such long-term agreements are the best confirmation of trust from European partners. The successful launch of the new refractory BFAO 15A on the EU market and the signing of a five-year contract with Naretra GmbH are not only commercial successes, but also a clear signal that the European market sees Ukraine as a key partner for the supply of high-quality structural materials in the long term until 2030,” emphasized Oleksandr Kozeratskyi, CEO of “Zaporizhabrasive”.

In 2024–2025, the company’s exports to the European Union countries have already increased by 25%. Thanks to the launch of additional production lines in 2026–2027, “Zaporizhabrasive” plans to increase the annual volume of exports of BFAO to the EU to 70–75 thousand tons, which fully meets the expectations of the European Commission regarding the resumption of imports from other countries after the introduction of restrictions on Chinese products.

Zaporizhzhia Abrasive Plant confirms its strategic orientation towards long-term cooperation with European partners and its readiness to further strengthen Ukraine’s position as a reliable supplier of critical raw materials for the abrasive and refractory industries of Europe.
