The flap disc is used for flat and edge grinding, weld seam processing, as well as working with steel, non-ferrous metals, and wood. It is also suitable for removing rust, paint, and varnish.

Key advantages of the flap disc include: lighter weight compared to classic grinding wheels; vibration-free and low-noise operation; the ability to control surface roughness thanks to a wide grit range (P40–P120); effective cooling of the working area due to its construction; and flexibility when processing weld seams and curved surfaces.
