ZAP participates in the worker retraining program

Zaporizhzhia Abrasive Plant has joined the SkillBoost project, initiated by the Zaporizhzhia Chamber of Commerce and Industry and supported by the USAID Competitive Economy Program in Ukraine. The project aims to accelerate the retraining of personnel for enterprises in the Zaporizhzhia region.

Under this program, six of our employees can acquire new, in-demand professions free of charge. Two employees will train as electricians for electrical equipment repair and maintenance, while four will train as electric gas welders.

The training will take place at leading educational institutions in Zaporizhzhia: the State Educational Institution “Zaporizhzhia Higher Vocational School ‘Motor Builder'” and the State Educational Institution “Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic Center for Vocational and Technical Education. ”

On January 14, at the inaugural meeting marking the launch of the program, Maria Milchevska, Deputy Chair of the Board of PJSC “Zaporizhzhia Abrasive Plant,” delivered remarks on behalf of the company. The event was attended by representatives of the Federation of Employers of Zaporizhzhia Region, leaders of educational institutions, production training instructors, and some future course participants.

The training will begin on January 20 and will last for two months. The theoretical part will be conducted in a hybrid format (online and offline). Practical training for the electricians will take place directly at our plant, while the electric gas welders will practice in the workshops of the educational institutions and at our enterprise.

Upon successfully completing the training and final examinations, participants will receive state certificates confirming their new qualifications.

“The opportunity to retrain employees within this project is a significant step toward addressing the pressing issue of workforce shortages. We are pleased that our employees can gain new knowledge and skills that will benefit our enterprise and Ukraine’s economy as a whole,” emphasised Mariіa Milchevska.

This initiative will enhance the competitiveness of the “Zaporizhzhia Abrasive Plant” and contribute to the development of Ukraine’s labour market.
